Peter Deunov was born in Bulgaria near the Black Sea in 1864, the son of an Orthodox priest. He left his native land as a young man to study in the United States. Upon receiving degrees in medicine and philosophy, he returned to Bulgaria in 1895.
Peter Deunov then published his dissertation on Science and Education. In the beginning of the twentieth century, he began his public teaching. His message centered on the universal principles of Love, Wisdom and Truth. His examples were drawn from nature, from scripture, from daily life. His focus was on the living experience, embodiment, cultivation and expression of these universal principles. He gave many methods designed to assist human beings in their development and elevation of consciousness.
In over 4,000 lectures, lovingly recorded in shorthand by his followers, he explained universal principles and related them to spiritual laws. His words spring from a clear and complete understanding of life. They invite us to contemplate eternal Truth in a personal and profound way. Through them, the Master Peter Deunov guides us towards a way of life that enables us to express our highest self in every moment.
